It seems as if everyone is restless as of late. Is it a seasonal thing? I don’t know. All I know is that, at work, I get several requests per day for melatonin, the hormone that stimulates drowsiness. My friends complain of insomnia, and feelings of anxiety. I hear stories about how they’ve been awake until the wee hours of the morning, dropping off to sleep for an hour or two before beginning work!
I’ve been known to suffer similarly in the past. There was a time when it wouldn’t be uncommon for me to have to force myself to at least go lay down, only to lay there staring at the ceiling for several hours, thoughts flowing constantly in my mind.
This time is different though. I am exactly the opposite! It seems as if I cannot stay awake! I wake up at 5.30am, in order to have a shower, so my hair can be dry for when I leave for work at 7.30am. I spend most of the day at work, come home, go on the computer/ watch TV/ read, typical things. I go for a walk with Spice. No part of my day is particularly exhausting. Yet, I am absolutely wiped by 5pm. I force myself to stay up until 8.30pm, most nights, but after that, I am completely non-functioning! It’s getting somewhat annoying, and I know I will be quite angry once The Office comes back, and I am unable to stay up until it’s on! At that point it will be interfering with my life, and I just can’t have that!
I used to explain this to people by saying it was March (in my observation, everyone seems to be more or less dead during March), but it’s not March anymore. :P
Aisling dear, you’re setting the trend here. You’ve been awake for an entire week :P
If it helps though, none of the people I regularly interact (IRL) suffer of insomnia.
So yeah, Canad may be large… bu not THAT large
Whoa. Insomnia, I think I have it
MAN I LOVE THIS LAYOUT!
That is strange, since it seems like you are getting enough sleep. Maybe Krasinski will be just what you need to keep you awake
Caffeine?
I sometimes have these sort of problems too - either sleeping too much or sleeping too little. Usually when I’m sleeping too much I’m depressed (or drunk), whereas sleeping too little means I’m feeling nervous.
Sometimes I do absolutely nothing in my day but I can’t even force myself to stay awake. Maybe you’re just tiring yourself out? I suggest taking it easy for abit!
That is strange. Perhaps you’re experiencing a lot of stress at work or perhaps something’s bothering you, causing you to get tired really quickly?? And perhaps your body’s just telling you you need that extra sleep. Some people need more sleep than others.
Oh god, my need for sleep is so out of balance. Some nights I can’t sleep at all, and other nights I’m almost asleep before I’ve fully lied down. And I hardly ever do anything out of the ordinary, so I don’t know what it is that does that I sometimes need more sleep. Then sometimes I can sleep for ten hours, only to be so tired the rest of the day, and other times I can sleep for seven hours and feel fine. That change makes no sense, because do you know what I do during the day? Absolutely nothing! I have felt extra drowsy lately, though, and I think it’s because the weather is so weird. I don’t know, it’s a strange season :P
I hate when that happens, especially when it results in missing a good show because you can’t stay awake - I have a bad tendency to fall asleep JUST AS it starts and then wake up JUST AS it ends though :S. But I hope everyone around you feels better :).
Hmm.. I think your schedule has something to do w/ this. Cause when I worked 2pm-10pm for years, I could stay up all night… skip sleep. Cody like a woman possessed. But now that I work 6am-2pm and i get up at 4. I’m redonkulously tired by 6. And I’m in bed by 8:30, 9pm. I dont understand how i used to be able to easily function on 4 hours of sleep. And now? I need 8 or I’m dead. weird eh?
but my dear little hunnyb!!1 don’t let it get you down! remember, summer is coming! *hugs*
AWW, *many many many many hugs* I hope it’ll be over soon. Maybe it’s just a phase, and might be over soon? (:
