I am a morning person.
I wake up early, and happy. It is incredibly rare for me to sleep past 8am. Maybe if I don’t get into bed until after midnight I might sleep-in until 9am.
I’m pretty sure I get it from my mom. She sucks at sleeping, as funny as that sounds. She tosses and turns all night, checks the clock incessantly and wakes up around 4am. This is highly annoying for my father who shares a bed with her, as she is often quite chatty when she wakes up. Usually she tries to stay in bed until 6am. But after 6? She obviously sees that as fair game, and I am quite used to be woken up by her at an early hour to “keep her company.” Not that I really have a choice, because even if I say no, she just goes downstairs and blast music.
Once I am awake, I am awake. So, the blasting of such music causes me to wake up, and stay in such a state until bed time. But, it doesn’t bother me, because once I am awake, I am happy, cheerful and spunky– until about mid-afternoon when I become slightly worn out, but not too badly!
Obviously, since my mom is the same way, it’s never been a big issue at my house. Upon living with other people last year, I realized that it can be a big deal with those out there who need their beauty sleep (because ‘dey so ugliezz, heh heh). It’s not too bad when it’s your house as well, but what about at sleepovers? It’s awful! Lying there, wide awake, at 7.30am, and you know your friends won’t wake up until approaching-noon! It’s torture!
Why can’t everyone just be morning people, like me?
How about you? Are you a morning person? Or do you like to sleep-in just to spite your early-rising friends?
Oh gosh I’m not a morning person at all! I rarely wake up before 11AM if i knew i had nothing to do during the day. Probably because of staying up too late surfing the net.
I like mornings and if I sleep very late I feel bad. But on the other hand I won’t go to sleep until between 23-01. I try to wake up around 7 but sometimes if I have free I end up reading something in bed till 8 or 9. Around that time I have to be out of bed if possible. Last three weeks I have been getting up at 6 (depending on when I should be at work/school), or before that. Actually I have been awake already 34 minutes today and I like it
I definently am not a morning person! It takes me ten minutes to actually get enough energy to pull my self out of bed, and even then I still trudge around like a zombie for the rest of the day. :P
I’m not a morning person at all. I am very grouchy when I’m tired, and I hate having an alarm wake me up. I like waking up when my body is ready. That’s why I work 2nd shift. I get to stay up late and sleep in.
My mom sounds very much like your mom though.
I wouldn’t exactly call myself a morning person, although if I’m with a group of people who are all not morning people, and we have to be somewhere by, say, 7 in the morning, then I’ll take the responsibility of waking everyone up in a highly annoying fashion.
I absolutely LOVE sleeping, though, so there’s no way I could ever be a true morning person. I fall back asleep very easily in the morning. :P It’s not the beauty sleep factor (whatever “beauty sleep” is supposed to mean); I just like to sleep. A lot.
Morning people are not normal people. Take that from me, because I think -no wait- I know that waking up before 11am is totally wrong. Waking up early (before 11am) is only justified if I went to be really early the day before, like at 6pm
HAHA!! What *ARE* mornings? My standard waking hour is 2pm, heh… then again, I am a complete insomniac (I glanced at the clock as I am typing this and it reads 3:10am) and I usually go to sleep at 6am, so if you really think about it… I’m getting my 8 hours of sleep, just through a horribly wrong cycle.
In any case, waking up at 11am causes my eyes to burn. =D
BUT! I’ve also been in the situation where I wait for someone to wake up… it *IS* torture! I hate that!
My friends set an alarm an hour early so they can have a lay in. The alarm goes off and I have to get up.
SO BLOODY ANNOYING!
I can get up early and sleep in, I wouldn’t say I am a morning person though.
I’m a total morning lark :D! Most of my other friends happen to be night owls though, so they are confounded by my chirpy attitude as soon as I get out of bed. I go to bed pretty early too.
I am sooooo not a morning person at all! Never have been, and I probably never will be. I do wake up a lot earlier than I used to. (I have to, being a teacher and all :P ) and I find myself waking up earlier on weekends and breaks too since it’s become more of a habit, but I don’t enjoy it one bit! I hit the snooze buttons multiple times. I am zombie-like when I finally do manage to peel myself off from the bed and stand up. I usually don’t wake up until I eat breakfast or even drive to work. It just takes me a bit to get going. I am such a night owl. I do much better late at night.
I WISH I could be that way! I would sleep all day if it didn’t give me bad headaches and get my schedule all messed up. But I would much prefer to wake up at 8am and be ready to go than ready to go back to sleep, hehe. I work early and have to get up, but on the weekends I end up wasting half of my day. I wish I could be more like you in the mornings!
I’ve never met anyone who was fond of mornings before; I’ve clearly been missing out. People have told me that I was not normal so many times, I was beginning to wonder if maybe I was an alien species! :O
I LOVE mornings because they’re so pretty! I always get up and run in the mornings and watch the sunrise while I’m at it. And on normal, non-beautiful days, the mornings are the prettiest and I can’t miss that for a petty thing like sleep. Pfft!
I’m a morning person too. I get up @ 5:15 6 days a week so it’s hard not to be a morning person. Even on my one day off, I can’t sleep past 8 ish. I live on my own so it’s not an issue, but i remember when i used to live w/ my ex-bf, he loved sleeping in till 2pm! we would get into so many fights over it cause i was loney and annoyed by the time he woke up. lol. My advice, make sure you have similar sleeping patterns to your sig. other. it makes it so much easier.
In my high school and college years I was definitely NOT a morning person at all, hehe.
I loved sleeping in and then staying up late.
Nowadays, I still like to stay up late but I don’t sleep in as much. I get like a “hangover” whenever I do, lawl. But I wouldn’t call myself a morning person. I can be grumbly until I have my coffee!
