Right. Here’s a new one! Well, it’s not exactly “new.” I made it while playing around with a few things two weeks ago. And I decided to put it up today. It’s called “Calm,” because it’s generally… calm. Quite different from my regular noise and chaos, I suppose.
I can’t see any issues with it so far, other than the fact that it screws up in IE 5 and 6. Essentially, the navigation scoots over toward the right in both situations. I don’t know why, and I’m not feeling well, so I’m not up to finding out! So, if any of you can figure out a quick fix, please let me know. Otherwise, I suppose the IE <6ers can tough it out for a bit!
That’s all, really! Not up to much other than not feeling well, and preparing for this weekend’s camping trip. In case I forget to mention, I’m leaving town on Thursday evening and will not be back until some time on the 1st of July (Canada Day!). So, I wouldn’t expect any blogging during those days, and maybe not any before then (but, who knows, really? I’m a bit of a bloggy/chatty person. I could use a ramble sometime on Wednesday.).
I love these colors!
I really like it.
I like the sidebar. The striped background on the comments is kind of annoying though; it moves when you scroll. Maybe make it a fixed background?
I like the green color that you used, it reminds me of ice cream.
reply: I’ve given them a fixed attachment, are they still wonky? If so, would it be better if I lowered the opacity a bit, so they are less distracting?
I love these colours <3 So much. But I agree with Alex about the striped background. Otherwise this is probably the best what I have seen so far by you :D.
I love it! The green is, as you said, very calming!
Who uses IE anyway? IE users should be shot for using such a crappy browser. :P
I love the layout, it definitely is calm. Have fun on your upcoming trip!
Aisling… There’s a horizontal scrollbar in 1024×768. D:
reply: Whoops! Left the comments at a set width of 900px, which obviously doesn’t work with a fluid-ish off-centre theme.
Ooh, thanks, looks way better now. I forgot to say that I really like it. :P
I like it.
Oooh, it’s really pretty and calming! Me loves it!
oh wow! It’s very nice!
very neat and calming!
stupid IE
I love it, and I’m not just saying that because green is my favorite color.
Have fun on your trip.
Oooh, it’s really lovely. The striped background in the comments is a bit overwhelming, but otherwise…wow!
I lubs it, Aisling!
It definitely is very calm and soothing.
Ooh I really like it ^_^!
And you definitely don’t change your theme nearly as much as scene kid bloggers =P They have a new layout like every week. It’s insane. They could definitely break a world record for themes.
Omg omg this is definitely one of my fav themes from you. I’ll totally use it if you ever decide to share it with the public =D
Keep on rocking!
Hi
I stumbled accross your blog, and when I saw you comment about ie6, it set me off, I love fixing this sort of stuff.
I’ve dug through your html/css, and I can’t see exactly what it is that’s causing the problem, but my guess is that the #content div needs the left margin, as opposed to the #post div.
Here’s a good example of how to do a fixed nav column + fluid content:

Hope you get it figured out!
sorry about the double post, but you don’t have an edit button
Here’s another example that I made a while ago to show someone else… it works in ie6, and I think the css is a bit easier/simpler than that dynamic drive example.
