This is a dance movie. Not just a dance movie, but a BALLROOM dance movie. Automatically, this is bound to be a favourite of mine. I love Antonio Banderas. I love Lauren Collins (from Degrassi). And her (Lauren) character is right, when she says “I’d kill to dance like that. It’s like sex on hardwood.” It is. It’s a little dirty, but mainly beautiful. It’s a true story teacher-inspiration film.

This was an interesting movie. It’s a thriller. Sometimes I think they wanted to scare the audience, and they didn’t really scare me. And I am a huge scaredy squirrel. The soundtrack really kept me captivated. The idea was pretty original. Overall, I would recommend seeing it, but don’t expect it to change your life.

I didn’t get to see this whole movie because it drove my parents crazy. If I hadn’t been multitasking online, I probably would have agreed. I absolutely love John Krasinski. We are destined to be married and together forever. But, this movie left quite a bit to be desired, and really only got one laugh out of me for the good hour I watched it. Sad.

Once again, a typical cute romcom, which is what I love!! It’s also, possibly, my dream come true. I would love nothing more than to flee North America and fall for an English person– and have them fall for me back. (Always a key element of love, I find. I can quite relate to Kate Winslet’s character in the beginning– desperately in love with someone who doesn’t love her back. Story of my life!) So, yes, fun, cute, not particularly groundbreaking, but a nice way to spend a snowy Sunday afternoon!

I first saw this movie over the summer during a Sunday afternoon movie and cuddlefest in Quebec. It’s seems like a pretty typical teacher-inspires-students movie, based on a true story. Hilary Swank plays a somewhat feminine character!! How groundbreaking! :P Patrick Dempsey is a bit of a prick, but still gorgey. And Imelda Staunton pulls off that perfect evil-superior-teacher role that she is so great at.
It also exposed me a bit to the kind of violence that goes on in the LA area. I’m a Canadian girl, so I always see LA as Hollywood glitz and glamour. It was interesting to see the other side of it. Like I said before, this seems like a typical film, but it really wasn’t. It engrossed me completely.

So cute! A perfect film to just cuddle up to and get lost in. It has everything that a classic Disney film must have, and made me feel young and carefree!

This movie is cute, but also kind of sad. Not your typical romcom. It has a bit of a… fairytale feel to it.

I absolutely adored this movie! I saw it in the theatre as soon as it came out. It’s funny, heartwarming, and quirky– like me! (Maybe that’s why I love it) Also, it’s chock-full of Canadians! Yay!

I’m a big fan of musicals. And blatantly fake gore. I wasn’t a huge fan of Helena and Johnny’s singing, however. It’s grown on me a bit, but I just think they could have cast stronger singers.

I love the Beatles, and I loved this! The way it was filmed is just a feast for the eyes! It dragged in a few places, but made up for it with all the powerhouse performances.

This movie was pretty typical. But, I enjoyed it. The narration was different. As with most book to film adaptations, it didn’t even compare to the original. But it was still fun, albeit slightly mindless, entertainment. And I enjoy Scarlett Johansson.
