The replacement

Aisling-B.net has been switched over to its new host! The gallery has gone ka-put, however, because I was too lazy to back up the database, and let’s face it, my Flickr gets updated 10 times more often, and what are Pro accounts for?!

There didn’t seem to be any major problems, except that I need to go through and re-configure the plug-ins, so some pages may not be fully functional. I will work on that. Scratch that. There seem to be quite a few problems involving permalinks retrieving actual pages and my server being incredibly slow. Stay tuned…

Some of you may have heard the sad news… my iPod, Jean-Francois, was killed in a freak accident involving a can of pop left in my bag. His tiny body lays unmoving on the hutch-buffet-thingy, alongside my phone.

As such, and especially since I am leaving for BC (7 hours driving, each way), I had to go out and buy a new one today, putting me back 250$. He is, as of publication, un-named, although I am sure I will come up with something.

Actually, I’ve just decided to call him Bert. So there.

Thus brings my iPod ownage, in less than a year, to 3. Although, Stanley (my pink 2nd gen nano), did not meet a demise even close to that of J-F– he resides in the care of my mother.

I now must embark on the task of replenishing his musical innerds, and as such must wade through the 14 000 songs on my hard drive, to find the ones I can actually stand. *sigh* I’m not eager to begin.

Switches

I’m ditching Dreamhost, and moving over to Holdfire! So, there may be a few hiccups over the next little bit. I need to move over the main aisling-b.net site, plus my q*bee quilt, my fanlisting collective and my photo gallery first, and then move over some other in-progress sites. So, it may take a bit of time as I am 1) working quite a bit, 2) lazy and 3) preparing for my trip to BC, which I leave for a week from today.

So… yes. Just FYI in case something goes awry!

In other news, I just learned on Dr. Phil that sperm allergies exist!

Also, I bought red skinny jeans today.

I Needed A Makeover.

Once upon a time, there was a girl called Aisling, who forgot to get her hair cut since November 2006. (Ew, I know). She last had it cut before she left for Katimavik. Then, impoverished, she was not able to cut it for nine months. Then, out of laziness, she didn’t get it cut for the next 11 months. Thus equalling 20 months of no hair-cuttage! Oh no!

This is how long it became (as of the Canada Day weekend):

Long hair

Today, this all changed! (Praise the lawd!) I finally got my hair cut (and coloured)– behold!

It’s hard to tell from those photos, but the top is a lot blonder IRL! It is so weird to go from elbow-length to shoulder-length in a few hours! I am missing 5 inches! It’s crazy! I’m not even sure if it will all fit into a ponytail! But, I’m enjoying it thus far. :)
