It’s no secret that I love food. This is perhaps demonstrated by the constant stuffing of my face, or the fact that I post some of my favourite recipes on this very site. I’m not a picky eater, and I am quite willing to try most things once. I hope to never try prairie oysters, nor any other food related to the reproductive or excretory systems. But, I am open-minded about most things.
I am most open to Italian cusine. It is one of my biggest regrets in life– not being born into an Italian family. I love it all! Pasta is my love, the cheesier the better! Pizza! Gelato! Canneloni! Canoli! It’s all just so amazing!
I suppose I’m lucky to live in a place like Canada, which is so multicultural that I can have pasta, pizza and my other cheesy loves as often as I want (like, as soon as my father returns home with a pizza at my request.). Can you imagine where I would be if I lived in the Soviet Union?! What would I have eaten then?
I would have eaten borscht. Which would have been an issue, since I am allergic to beets.
Are you a picky eater? What’s your favourite food? And is there anything you would ever refuse to try?
Right. Here’s a new one! Well, it’s not exactly “new.” I made it while playing around with a few things two weeks ago. And I decided to put it up today. It’s called “Calm,” because it’s generally… calm. Quite different from my regular noise and chaos, I suppose.
I can’t see any issues with it so far, other than the fact that it screws up in IE 5 and 6. Essentially, the navigation scoots over toward the right in both situations. I don’t know why, and I’m not feeling well, so I’m not up to finding out! So, if any of you can figure out a quick fix, please let me know. Otherwise, I suppose the IE <6ers can tough it out for a bit!
That’s all, really! Not up to much other than not feeling well, and preparing for this weekend’s camping trip. In case I forget to mention, I’m leaving town on Thursday evening and will not be back until some time on the 1st of July (Canada Day!). So, I wouldn’t expect any blogging during those days, and maybe not any before then (but, who knows, really? I’m a bit of a bloggy/chatty person. I could use a ramble sometime on Wednesday.).
Well, well. It seems my life has been quite busy lately, which is probably why I haven’t blogged about anything interesting. Maybe you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to?
Last weekend I got a chance to see some of my friends from high school. At first I wasn’t going to go since I’d had a rough week, what with my uncle being in the hospital and a fight I’d had with a certain friend. But, I ended up going anyway, and I was glad! I met up with the gang at East Side Mario’s and then we spent two hours trying to figure out what to do. After several elaborate plans fell through, we opted to go hang out in Thomas’s backyard. Which was super fun as we played truth or dare which is one of my favourite games!
This week was essentially filled up with work, my two days off which saw me busily running around to occupy myself, and back to work. This weekend I have been abandoned by my supervisor and partner in crime, so yesterday I spent my shift in deep dark boredom!
Last night I went out to visit my friend Emily, who just returned from Katimavik (the same program I did last year). It was great to see her. She lives at such a cool little place!
Today I’m working, as per usual, and then I’m off to a baby shower, and then going shopping to get more clothes for next week’s camping trip! We’re going up to Pigeon Lake, Alberta, where one of my sets of aunties and uncles are renewing their wedding vows after 25 years. My parents met at their wedding (one of my dad’s sisters is best friends with one of my mom’s sisters.) so I guess I kind of owe them something!
Other than that, summer is just kicking on up! My mother finishes work for two months on Friday (she works at an elementary school), so I’m hoping to drag her around to places! I want to go to the Zoo to see the animals and dinosaurs! And do lots of other fun city activities (because with the gas prices I doubt I’ll make it out of the city, save for our excursion next weekend and our trip to BC in August).
What are you all up to this summer?
