Busy busy.

Well, well. It seems my life has been quite busy lately, which is probably why I haven’t blogged about anything interesting. Maybe you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to?

Last weekend I got a chance to see some of my friends from high school. At first I wasn’t going to go since I’d had a rough week, what with my uncle being in the hospital and a fight I’d had with a certain friend. But, I ended up going anyway, and I was glad! I met up with the gang at East Side Mario’s and then we spent two hours trying to figure out what to do. After several elaborate plans fell through, we opted to go hang out in Thomas’s backyard. Which was super fun as we played truth or dare which is one of my favourite games!

This week was essentially filled up with work, my two days off which saw me busily running around to occupy myself, and back to work. This weekend I have been abandoned by my supervisor and partner in crime, so yesterday I spent my shift in deep dark boredom!

Last night I went out to visit my friend Emily, who just returned from Katimavik (the same program I did last year). It was great to see her. She lives at such a cool little place!

Today I’m working, as per usual, and then I’m off to a baby shower, and then going shopping to get more clothes for next week’s camping trip! We’re going up to Pigeon Lake, Alberta, where one of my sets of aunties and uncles are renewing their wedding vows after 25 years. My parents met at their wedding (one of my dad’s sisters is best friends with one of my mom’s sisters.) so I guess I kind of owe them something!

Other than that, summer is just kicking on up! My mother finishes work for two months on Friday (she works at an elementary school), so I’m hoping to drag her around to places! I want to go to the Zoo to see the animals and dinosaurs! And do lots of other fun city activities (because with the gas prices I doubt I’ll make it out of the city, save for our excursion next weekend and our trip to BC in August).

What are you all up to this summer?

Sluffing off the bad.

I did something semi-difficult today that will hopefully lead to me being generally happier. I know, most of you see me as this really chipper and upbeat person, and truth is, I am like that a large chunk of the time. However, a few months ago, something happened which has caused me to be slightly emo at times, as of late. The problem is, the situation I was in was sort of a double-edged sword. The same thng that made me feel crappy, also made me unbelievably happy.

Today, I extracted this thing from my life, and I am looking forward to making things better. It will be difficult, but I have full confidence in my ability to be stubborn, and to stick it out.

But, I need advice. How do you quit something you’ve done everyday for the last 9 months? i suppose I’ll find out most of it as I go along– wish me luck!

My Techie Gadgets

Like most people my age, I have a severe dependency on technical gadgets. Here are the things I use:

First up is my laptop, which Rachaely named Pierre, because up until a few days ago it was just called Owner, and apparently that was unacceptable! It is an Acer Aspire 5580-6974, and although I only got it in August of last year, it is completely worn down, a sign that I should probably get a life. The “A” key is almost completely swiped, since I have to touch it every time I write my name, email address, URL and… well, the plethora of a’s that appear in the English language. I can’t say it wasn’t a good investment. I use it for blogging, chatting with my friends whom are all scattered around the country, organizing photos, reading news, editing videos, recording vocals and instruments and mixing, and so much more. And it still runs very smoothly! I also have a nifty external hard drive and tablet that can probably be shoved in this same computer-centric category!

I am absolutely inseparable from my iPod. It’s a black 80GB Classic. It doesn’t carry even 1/3rd of my music collection as of yet, because I seem to be lazy on the uploading front, but it still has a good 1100 songs to provide me with entertainment while I’m on the bus, on breaks at work, doing dishes and other chores, and while I’m lying in bed thinking big thoughts before sleeping. I’m even listening to it right now! The song is “Mexico,” by Kain. It’s a Quebecois (French) song, that reminds me of someone special. <345

My cell phone ranks slightly lower than my other tech gadgets, mainly because I dislike speaking on the phone! But, I do enjoy texting, and updating Twitter from wherever I am! It is a LG Chocolate 8500 phone and it gets the job done.

Finally, my camera, which is a Nikon Coolpix S550. It’s 10 Megapixels and absolutely fantastic. It takes great photos, it’s little, it’s cute, and with its black colour it matches the majority of my other gadgets! Also, Ashton Kutcher does commercials for it, and I love him.

What are your favourite/ prized gadgets? What’s on your wishlist?
